About the Item

For creative people living in the Bay Area, water vistas offer daily inspiration. Abstract artist Keith Race focused here on the steady, choppy surface of waves throwing off spray. Wave tips sparkle in the sun. And, as in nature, each individual wave closely resembles its neighbors but is also unique. It’s all a remarkable feat of precision considering that this painting was done with an airbrush. Born in Buffalo, NY and educated at Buffalo State College, Race studied painting and sculpture in Sienna, Italy. Careers in graphic design and advertising further prepared him for his fine art career. The artist currently runs San Francisco’s Race Fine Art Gallery and regularly participates in the city’s open studios. Fun fact: This work can be hung either vertically or horizontally.
