About the Item
Bright orange and colorful thoroughly unique urban city scape, as seen through the mesh of an urban construction site. Important work from Frohsin's Cautionary Tales series of 2015, that considers the price of progress in our rapidly changing world. Here in this compelling Mesh painting we see a vanishing urban landscape. There are dots of blue representing fragments of remaining sky, along with subtle embedded messages of caution. Created in Frohsin's wholly unique method of layered painting: mainly acrylic and ink, gouache, pencils and glazes. It is framed in a museum quality white maple hardwood floater frame. Signed, titled and dates Verso. A compelling and provocative work from Frohsin's 'Mesh' works, from her CT (Cautionary Tales) series, that was featured at Art Silicon Valley's International Art Fair in 2015.
The framed painting is 23 x 23 inches. Magnetic and completely original, contemporary work of art.
Frohsin began exhibiting in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1990s, and she was included with Nathan Oliveira, Manuel Neri, and Stephen De Staebler in the “Four Figures from the Bay” exhibit in 1993. With Wayne Thiebaud as the judge, she won the California Society of Printmakers’ Award in 1996, and she exhibited at the de Young Museum in San Francisco in “Bay Area Art: The Morgan Flagg Collection” the following year.
