“Call Me, Kiss Me” is the third of a continuing “ILYSFM” series which explores femininity, love & beauty, drag, and attraction as iconic symbolism. Inspired by drag queens, femininity, and the iconography of romance in pop culture, the “ILYSFM” (which is an acronym for “I love you so f***ing much”) series is created with makeup (usually lipstick) and the artist’s lips, which themselves are a unique and individual form of biometry and identification. “Call Me, Kiss Me,” along with “Kiss Me, Love Me,” are two parts of a story in which strangers come from different paths and meet. In Call Me, Kiss Me, the two colors represent two individuals coming from different directions and conjoining into one. The colors are selected not only to represent different individuals, but also the paths (of love?) that they choose to take. The business cards were selected because they symbolize communication and the effort to stay in touch in a fast-paced, dynamic world. Maybe you will call me. Will you kiss me?
