This tree is one of two painted together as Emz loves to stand between them and look up. They seem to have grown in perfect harmony - each one making room for the other. This painting is part of a series called Look Up Trees. Emz spends time with trees daily to help her mind heal from PTSD in 2021. She has 'grown' over 140 trees in oil paint and digitally on her ipad. The mindful painting process she's established helps her to recognise and work through some difficult emotions. She's currently working on ways she can share these tools with others through a mindful sketching practice.

Lucy Moore
Lucy Moore, painter, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. I have always enjoyed being creative but lacked the confidence to pursue a career as an artist, after many nudges from family and friends I decided to bite the bullet.I set out on my artists adventure in Feb 2014 I used my loft for a studio and spent every spare moment experimenting and creating.
In Feb 2015 I signed up to several online galleries, every painting I sold boosted my confidence and I would spend hour daydreaming of becoming a full time artist. Since then I have come a long way and have been able to purchase my own studio, I now have a little sanctuary in my back garden. When I am not working as a part time book keeper, I can be found hidden away in my studio creating original artworks. I am inspired by the nature around me, from flourishing meadows to the crashing waves in the ocean, however I do like to add my own twist on things. I do love to work freely with abstract using colours and textures to guide me.
For me Art is a necessity, I need to paint. The colours and images that swirl round my head daily I capture on canvas. I feel very privileged to have sold my work all over the world. My dream is to become a full time artist, With each painting I sell I take a step closer to achieving my goal. 13/08/2018 I took a leap of faith.

"Lush Landscape with Greens and Blues" Mid Century Modern Oil Painting on Canvas
By Nanno de Groot
Located in New York, NY
This piece is a wonderful Mid Century pertinent example of Nannot de Groot's works from the prime of his career with thick use of impasto oil paint, and gestural brushwork throughout. In 1957 it was a transitional year from painting figures in his New York studio to his new studio into the countryside. And in 1959 he and his wife came back to Provincetown Massachusetts and rented a small cabin that was in a field belonging to Mary Cecil Allen on the west end. It was a small space, and there was a tree that was outside the front door, he was inspired and painted this tree over and over, and soon it was the beginning of a whole new series. The brush landscape that was outside of the window of the cabin became a focal point of this series and every year it would change, picking up inspiration to depict the tree in a new way each year. This piece is signed and dated 59' by the artist upper right corner and it comes housed with the original Mid-Century wood frame with gold rim and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
Art measures 49.5 x 39 inches
Frame measures 51.5 x 40 inches
Nanno de Groot was born on March 23 of 1913, in Balkbrug, Holland. He started drawing at six years of age. Although his father prevented him to study art at an early age, he moved to the United States in the year of 1941, and in 1946 at age 33 he discovered Picasso and he dedicated the rest of his life to painting and drawing. He worked for a year as a cartoonist for the San Francisco Chronicle. After his marriage to the New York School artist Elise Asher...
