"About 100 metres from Emz's home is the All England Tennis training ground. It's a vast area of beautiful trees and huge air-filled pods that house the tennis courts. When the newly-planted trees came into blossom for the first time, we were deep in COVID lockdowns. On one of my walks, I saw this beautiful white blossom and convinced the manager at the grounds to photograph them for me so I could paint them. This tree is one such tree. It reminds me of days when walking 100 meters from my house was a BIG DEAL. It reminds me that moving forward in life is a luxury I'm very grateful for." This painting is part of a series called Look Up Trees. Emz spends time with trees daily to help her mind heal from PTSD in 2021. She has 'grown' over 140 trees in oil paint and digitally on her ipad. The mindful painting process she's established helps her to recognise and work through some difficult emotions. She's currently working on ways she can share these tools with others through a mindful sketching practice.

Lucy Moore, painter, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. I have always enjoyed being creative but lacked the confidence to pursue a career as an artist, after many nudges from family and friends I decided to bite the bullet.I set out on my artists adventure in Feb 2014 I used my loft for a studio and spent every spare moment experimenting and creating.
In Feb 2015 I signed up to several online galleries, every painting I sold boosted my confidence and I would spend hour daydreaming of becoming a full time artist. Since then I have come a long way and have been able to purchase my own studio, I now have a little sanctuary in my back garden.When I am not working as a part time book keeper, I can be found hidden away in my studio creating original artworks. I am inspired by the nature around me, from flourishing meadows to the crashing waves in the ocean, however I do like to add my own twist on things. I do love to work freely with abstract using colours and textures to guide me.
For me Art is a necessity, I need to paint. The colours and images that swirl round my head daily I capture on canvas. I feel very privileged to have sold my work all over the world. My dream is to become a full time artist, With each painting I sell I take a step closer to achieving my goal. 13/08/2018 I took a leap of faith.

Cherry Blossom Dream by Sophia Chalklen is an original painting. One day I was sat looking up at a cherry blossom tree and thought how beautiful it looked from that angle. I took a photo and had to paint it. The beautiful light breaking through made it even more beautiful. I have used various metallic pink leaf as well as 24ct gold leaf on the trunk to create that extra sparkle and magic as the light hits the painting. Due to the nature of the metallic leaf it looks different in different light.
Contemporary artist Sophia Chalklen sold online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Sophia has always had a strong passion for Art ever since she was a child. Sophia studied at Winchester school of Art where she completed a BA specialising in Textile design. After achieving her BA she went on to become a Freelance Printed Textile designer for a small company in London. Shortly after that she managed to get a job as a Fine Jewellery Designer for the Crown Jewellers, Asprey and Garrard Bond St. Sophia became a specialist in designing high end Jewellery, accessories, and ornaments for English and Middle Eastern Royalty and the Elite. She also designed a great variety of items including rings, Jewellery Suites, watches, cufflinks, Jewel incrusted clocks, tiaras and precious ornaments.
