Mirtha Moreno
Mirtha Moreno, born in Havana, immigrated to the United States as a child in 1980. Raised in South Florida amongst a growing Hispanic population, she received recognition for her natural artistic talent and passion from an early age. This form of expression became a way to convey the thoughts and emotions that arose from her experiences as a young Cuban exile. Working in oil and acrylic, Moreno’s pieces are often aesthetically influenced by images found in her dreams and surroundings. Her abstract style evokes the feeling of movement and drama.

As an artist based in the vibrant community of West Palm Beach, my work is an exploration of the interplay between color, emotion, and memory. Growing up in Guatemala, I was immersed in a culture rich with vivid hues, captivating vistas, and a tapestry of diverse experiences that continue to influence my work.
I decided to pursue an artistic and creative career as a painter because of my deep passion for self-expression and the power of art to evoke emotions and provoke thought. I found solace in drawing and painting, using these mediums as a way to communicate and interpret the world around me.
The ability to convey complex ideas and feelings through colors, shapes, and strokes fascinated me. Painting has been an avenue for me to explore our inner thoughts and reflect on life, creating a profound connection between myself and my art.
