Nancy Eckels
"So Much To Explain" Mixed Media abstract with textural purple, blue, and reds

2019

About the Item

Exhibiting the bold colors and textures that her work is known for, "Too Much To Explain" is a beautiful abstract painting by Nancy Eckelson on a box canvas. Using sculptural texture with beautiful purples and reds, contrasted with flowing textures and white and metallic gold highlights, this painting creates both a peaceful and dynamic mood. Nancy became a full time artist only after ending another creative career.  She moved to California to attend college, and happily worked in television for many years. She was a director on the CBS daytime drama, "The Bold and the Beautiful" when she decided to move on to full time painting. Given her family background, it seemed like the most natural transition she could make.  Nancy was born in Kingston, New York, but moved to Utah at age 7 when her father was transferred for his work. With her family, she spent her summers exploring many of the national parks, and natural wonders of the west where her father loved to fish and photograph. He instilled in her a love and appreciation for the beauty and colors of nature, while her mother taught her many of the lessons of art. Nancy gained quite an art education through "osmosis" while being around talented family members. She has learned much from working with several experimental abstract painters, including Katherine Chang Liu, Carole Barnes, and Pat Dews. The past 18 years her worked has been placed in homes and businesses across the country. Before she gave up the traveling life, she participated for multiple years in several of the top juried art shows in the U.S. including the La Quinta Arts Festival in the California desert, and the annual show at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts in Arizona. Her mission continues. That is to continue to create special paintings that speak to her and her collectors. And she will keep applying paint to every canvas with that in mind! Nancy will be painting as long as she can hold a brush. It's a passion that will not be lost to retirement. She lives with her husband in Canyon Country, California.

  • On Silverlode Road
    By Jonas Fisch
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
Swedish artist Jonas Fisch’s imagery is vibrantly buzzing with colorful commentary on society - past and present - morphed into figures, words, and shapes. His heavily layered canvases are the foundations of a new visual dialogue. Fisch paints with a jazz-like spontaneity, expressing personal emotions, commenting on contemporary society, and exploring old mythologies. Formulating a galaxy of the unknown, Fisch’s textural paintings flood the mind with possibility. His process is instinctive and organic, the paintings energetic and vibrant, emerging from his subconscious without judgment. They are constructed by feelings trying to find harmony. Endless figures, messages, layers, and symbols move in and out of focus as the eye explores his puzzle pieces with varied solutions. Jonas Fisch created this large colorful 93-inch tall by 67-inch wide painting with mixed media. acrylic, and oil stick on canvas. This artwork is stretched and is ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the back of the painting. This artwork does not require framing. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with the artwork, ensuring that the piece is an authentic work of art from Jonas Fisch. Born in a small fisherman's village in southern Sweden, contemporary artist Jonas Fisch discovered his love for drawing and painting at a young age and was inspired to pursue his passion by renowned artist and grandmother Ann-Marie Sjögren. Fisch reflects, “As a fundamentally introspective person, I have an explosive need to express and communicate my innermost rays, reflections, and shadows. The canvas, the brush, and the paint allow me to act out, throw up, confront, and examine those innermost feelings. Painting becomes my outlet. At a certain moment, each shape, stroke, and color suddenly takes over and the painting reveals itself. It becomes an expressive personal collaboration of art." Fisch's artworks have been exhibited across the United States, Switzerland, and Hong Kong. His paintings can be found in private collections worldwide.
