About the Item

In Unforeseen, a prominent oval is the principle motif. The rich palette is exemplary of her use of color - which usually consists of earth tones ranging from golden yellows to rusty reds and somber blacks. This seemingly simple, abstract composition is surprisingly intricate as we draw closer, revealing a certain sense of spirit. The large dominant oval seems to have a powerfully enigmatic presence - calling to mind a void, a womb, sun, or planet. The textured surface reveals built up layers of various hues that seem to vibrate through each other. The chartreuse color of the stripe at the top adds to this internal vibration as it reacts with the complementary purple tones in the lower portion of the painting.
