About the Item

This year, 2024, the artist Ruth Vidal (1998, Isla de Arousa) launches her latest research into painting and games. These works are based on the references that the artist draws from fashion textile production, using the inflatable paint that is used in drawings and texts printed on many of the clothing items that we use on a daily basis. The Galician artist assembles and superimposes multiple layers of paint that swells little by little, adding thickness and thickness of matter that she also subtracts in her process. The result is a unique and special series of paintings. These works have already been exhibited in the Pontevedra Museum (Vigo), the Manolo Eirin Gallery (A Coruña), Atelier du Hezo Art Contemporain (France), Faro de Vilaño (Camariñas) among others. The dimensions of the work are 28 x 28 x 14 cm. The piece is full of details and hidden games so that every time you look at it you see something totally different, there is optical illusion, there is a game of shapes and many volumes, paint that agglutinates and becomes stronger and more attractive.

Blue Red Yellow Landscape Abstraction, Abstract Painting
By Patrick O'Boyle
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Patrick O'Boyle demonstrates an abstract landscape with distinct formations. He uses acrylic glaze and washes to establish color, shape, and pattern placement. Pages of old dictionaries and collage papers add points of interest to the composition. "This painting is purely an abstracted reference to places I have sketched on location," says Patrick.

About the Artist
Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete. Using extra-long handles on his brushes, Patrick paints at a distance from the canvas so he can see the works evolve as a whole from the one color he starts with to the vibrant array at the end.
