About the Item
This work is a reflection on the cyclical nature of existence and the psychological tension that shapes human experience. Drawing inspiration from the concept of samsara—the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth—my art explores the ambiguity and underlying tension that permeate our lives. Through a blend of suspense, mystery, and psychological intrigue, I aim to delve into the complex emotional landscapes of individuals caught in cycles of their own making.
Much like the dramatic aesthetics of Film Noir and the eerie narratives of early sci-fi, my work captures the unsettling intersection of reality and the unknown, inviting viewers to confront their own inner turmoil and the shadows that linger within.

Sheila Daube
Sheila Daube is an abstract artist from Southern California. Influenced by the mid-century American School she also credits her years as a preschool teacher as fundamental to her art. “I’ve been trying to paint like a five-year-old for years, trying to return to my original reaction to color and line.” Daube is inspired by timeless themes from mythology while exploring unique mediums using foil and powdered pigments. Daube teaches classes in abstract art at Art on 30th in San Diego. Her work is found in private collections, has been featured in national shows, and is represented by Sylvia White Gallery in Agoura Hills.
