About the Item
This is a 72" x 60" contemporary abstract landscape painting in oil. The piece comes wired for hanging and is in a simple contemporary float frame. The depth of the frame is 2.5”
We once viewed “nature” as the broad, creative and controlling force in the universe. Tania Dibbs obtained degrees in both biology and art, and is interested in our changing relationship to to the idea of nature, which she explores in her “Metanarrative” series.
This oil painting was inspired by the story of Fritz Haber, who in the early 1900’s was the first to discover a method of directly synthesizing ammonia from hydrogen and nitrogen, thus creating fertilizer and enabling the resulting population explosion. The discovery, called colloquially “Bread From the Air,” caused plant growth that was unseen previously. This abstracted landscape oil painting hints at an explosion of leaves in the warm sun, reflecting that unbridled growth.
Tania’s works have received national and international recognition and have been placed in the collections of well-known moguls, Hollywood celebs, and rock stars, as well as hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Viceroy, and Gaylord Hotels. Reproductions of her work are sold at RH. Her works can be viewed on 1stdibs online and personally at her gallery near Aspen, Colorado.
