About the Item
This is a 60" tall by 48" wide original abstract oil painting. First the artist laid down a simple landscape of a blue sky and green grass. Afterwards she created a dripped grid overlay, typical of the artist's Anthropocene body of work. The grid has dimension and depth, and bits of the underpainting shows through. Then the artist repainted some of those spots to add spots of color and interest.
The screens and overlays that Tania paints over her scenes both highlight and obscure the landscapes beneath, speaking both to the beauty of nature and the conflicting yet fantastic and ubiquitous constructs of man. The piece comes wired for hanging and is in a simple silver contemporary float frame. The depth of the frame is 2.5”
Tania’s works have received national and international recognition and have been placed in the collections of well-known moguls, Hollywood celebs, and rock stars, as well as hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Viceroy, and Gaylord Hotels. Reproductions of her work are sold at RH. Her works can be viewed on 1stdibs online and personally at her gallery near Aspen, Colorado.
