Beautifully spontaneous painting depicting this portrait of a young girl smelling a red rose. The artist was clearly moved by the sitter - and the moment - and felt he (or she!) needed to paint the stylish young lady immediately! The brush strokes are very fluid, as it's not finished - the work feels like an interrupted working sketch.
The strong colours used are lovely. In this unusual shape, it is very decorative and makes 'quirky' interior design.

The painting has some paint fading to the outer edges and some scuffs and marks, adding to the romantic nature of the piece.
