Large circa 1800 English scene of a Shire horse and a small terrier in an open country landscape, oil on canvas. Excellent quality and condition encounter between the curious shire horse and the approaching terrier. Typical of the style and narrative series of horses encountering other animals. Presented in an antique gilt frame. Unsigned.
