These pair of oil on panel paintings show contemporary figures in Classical poses, which the French painter Antoine Dubost was particularly well-known for. The first painting, on the left, potrays a nude child and a sleeping baby lying with a dog sitting on its hind legs. It is signed 'A DUBOST FECIT, LONDON, 1811' and the inscription on the dog's collar reads 'CATALANI'.
The second painting, on the right, shows a nude child in a Classical pose lying with a poodle. This painting is signed 'DUBOST, LONDON, 1809'. Both paintings are set in giltwood frames. The dimensions for the paintings are as follows:
