Nirvana
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
The artwork titled "Nirvana" is a stunning representation of a woman with a sophisticated hairstyle and a fabric costumed suit. This piece of art is an unapologetic celebration of feminine power and grace, and Fatunmbi Anjolaoluwa Grace has expertly captured the essence of womanhood in every brushstroke. The sophisticated hairstyle of the woman in the artwork is a testament to the artist's skill and attention to detail. The intricate braids and weaves symbolize the many challenges that women face in their daily lives, yet they still manage to maintain their composure and elegance. The hairstyle is a reflection of the woman's inner strength and determination. The fabric costumed suit adds another layer of depth to the artwork. The suit is designed to fit the woman's body perfectly, highlighting her feminine form and celebrating her womanhood. The fabrics used are luxurious and elegant, further emphasizing the woman's sophistication and grace. The name "Nirvana" is fitting for this artwork, as it symbolizes a state of perfect happiness and enlightenment. The woman in the artwork exudes a sense of peace and contentment as if she has reached a state of enlightenment and is at one with herself and the world around her. Some may argue that this artwork objectifies women, but I firmly believe that it celebrates their beauty and strength. Women should be proud of their femininity and should not be ashamed to celebrate it. Fatunmbi Anjolaoluwa Grace has created a stunning representation of a woman who is comfortable in her own skin and is not afraid to express her feminine power and grace. Furthermore, the artist's choice to create this artwork with a woman of color is significant. The representation of diverse women in art is essential in promoting inclusivity and challenging the traditional beauty standards that have been set by society. In conclusion, the artwork titled "Nirvana" is a beautiful celebration of feminine power and grace. The artist has expertly captured the essence of womanhood in every brushstroke, from the sophisticated hairstyle to the fabric costumed suit. This artwork is an unapologetic reminder that women are beautiful, and strong, and should be celebrated for who they are. Her medium of art is expressed in traditional Adire and Ankara fabric with a blend of acrylic on canvas. Her journey into art began at an early stage while watching her father work on various forms of art as a seasoned professional. For, Arike, Art was second nature as she lived and dreamed of art in an environment beaming with top professionals and ardent art enthusiasts. As she advanced in age with a broader exposure to the vicissitudes of life and a deeper understanding of how human nature transcends and reinvents in a constantly changing circle, her works are consciously impacted by her cultural roots and personal experiences. Arike’s textile art is composed of intricate compositions of layers of fabric, flowery patterns, and detailed attention to the markings of the female features. Her pieces are reflective of her personality as she loves to incorporate vibrant colors and whimsical designs. With her early start in the Art scene, Arike has been able to apprentice under renowned masters in the Art sector like the globally acclaimed proponent of Contemporary Black Art, Oluwole Omofemi. Her work was selected for the prestigious Art fellowship themed: Telling textile tales. The program sponsored by the British council had in attendance notable heavyweights like Uzoma Samuel and Laura Jones among other participants. She successfully presented papers on the forms of Art she practice and the ethics guiding her creative enterprise. She has also been greatly inspired by leading female artists in the likes of Marcellina Akpojotor, Bisa Butler...

Inseparable
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
The artwork titled "Inseparable" portrays a strong relationship between women and Aje, the Yoruba deity of wealth, prosperity, and feminine power. The piece captures the essence of this relationship through vibrant colors, intricate details, and symbolic imagery. The details in the artwork are also significant. The women wear traditional Yoruba attire, with intricate patterns and symbols that reflect their cultural heritage. The necklace on the neck is adorned with cowrie shells, and other ornaments, which represent the wealth and prosperity that Aje brings to her devotees. Aje has no gender yet it's inseparable from feminine You're in search for aje but left behind the woman Surely you've failed even before you start You're on the journey of making it really big but neglect the power of the source Do you think a river can ever have any wonder aside from the source Women and wealth are inseparable yet women are the destroyer of AJÉ The artwork "Inseparable" is a testament to the deep connection between women and Aje. It portrays the strength and resilience of women and the power and prosperity that Aje brings to those who honor her. It also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people and their reverence for the divine feminine. Desires 1
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
The painting titled "Desires 1" is a beautiful work of art that depicts two women sitting across from each other, engaged in what seems to be a deep and meaningful conversation. The painting, created by Esinulo Chiamaka Praise, features an older woman and a younger woman, each holding a white flower, which adds a sense of purity and serenity to the scene. The older woman, who appears to be in his 50s, and the younger woman, who looks to be in his 20s, are both dressed in a more simple dress. Both women are seated on chairs, with their faces turned towards each other in a relaxed yet focused manner. The title of the painting, "Desires 1," adds an element of intrigue and mystery to the scene, as it hints at the possibility of underlying desires and motivations between the two women. However, the painting does not provide any clear answers or indications of what those desires might be, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer. Wisdom is gathered from lessons learned from experiences. Time and age guide a man through life as regards choices or wants... One possible interpretation of the painting is that it represents the passing of knowledge and wisdom from one generation to the next. The older woman appears to be sharing something with the younger woman, who listens intently and respectfully. The white flowers that both women are holding could be seen as symbols of purity and innocence, representing the purity of the knowledge and wisdom being shared. What you want today may not be what you would want tomorrow, wants change with time. Experiences and age have an influence on choices. Responsibilities are given with time. What is your desire now? Another interpretation of the painting is that it represents a deep and meaningful conversation between two people who share a close and intimate relationship. The fact that both women are holding white flowers suggests a sense of purity and love between them, while their relaxed and focused expressions indicate a sense of comfort and ease in each other's presence. In terms of technique, the painting is expertly executed, with rich colors and intricate details that bring the scene to life. Keating's use of light and shadow creates a sense of depth and dimensionality, while the placement of the two men in the center of the painting draws the viewer's attention to their faces and the emotions that are portrayed in them. Overall, "Desires 3" is a beautiful and thought-provoking painting that captures the essence of a deep and meaningful conversation between two people. It is a testament to the power of art to evoke emotion and inspire reflection, leaving the viewer with a sense of curiosity and wonder about the motivations and desires of the two women in the painting. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Girl from Gombe
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Girl from Gombe is an original painting by Abifola Olorunlana. Olorunlana created Girl from Gombe with Acrylic on a 36W by 48H inches primed canvas. The Girl from Gombe is a two-portrait series about a young girl from Gombe who is trying to find balance in her personal life in a society that does not really care much about the mental health of young people. In each portrait, her bodily pose, complemented with fresh-looking green plants and every other element in the painting tells a story about all the good and bad choices that have led her to where she is; the influence of her academics, family, religion, and the friends she surrounds herself with. While she's fighting her insecurities, and facing a dilemma in her career choice, she seems to persevere in living. Whenever I look at my subject and listen to her talk, all I see is a beautiful girl who has fallen prey to what we all refer to as life: Abifola Olorunlana decided to narrate with paint on canvas as a reminder that no matter what the situation is, as long as we are alive our lives can always get better. Nakedness of Truth
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Nakedness of Truth is an original painting by Abifola Olorunlana. Olorunlana created Nakedness of Truth with Acrylic on a 36W by 48H inches primed canvas. Nakedness of Truth was made over a painting Abifola Olorunlana did and didn't like (an underlying painting depicting four figures fetching water from a river and gossiping about someone they didn't like). The Nakedness of Truth is a painting that advocates for people who belong to the LGBTQ community and salutes their unity in making the movement impactful globally. For years many have stayed reclusive about their true identity due to religious beliefs, societal constructs, and government laws which have left many depressed till their last days, many were even killed for courageously coming out to state their true identity. This is depicted in the painting: dark yellow eyes sticking out of the woods to portray a sense of public rejection, yet my subject boldly stands out of the green woods and leaves to express courage, strength, and power. Desires 3
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
The painting titled "Desires 3" is a beautiful work of art that depicts two men sitting across from each other, engaged in what seems to be a deep and meaningful conversation. The painting, created by Esinulo Chiamaka Praise, features an older man and a younger man, each holding a white flower, which adds a sense of purity and serenity to the scene. The older man, who appears to be in his 50s, and the younger man, who looks to be in his 20s, are both dressed in a more casual shirt and pants. Both men are seated on chairs, with their faces turned towards each other in a relaxed yet focused manner. The title of the painting, "Desires 3," adds an element of intrigue and mystery to the scene, as it hints at the possibility of underlying desires and motivations between the two men. The older man appears to be sharing something with the younger man, who listens intently and respectfully. The white flowers that both men are holding could be seen as symbols of purity and innocence, representing the purity of the knowledge and wisdom being shared. Another interpretation of the painting is that it represents a deep and meaningful conversation between two people who share a close and intimate relationship. The fact that both men are holding white flowers suggests a sense of purity and love between them, while their relaxed and focused expressions indicate a sense of comfort and ease in each other's presence. It is a testament to the power of art to evoke emotion and inspire reflection, leaving the viewer with a sense of curiosity and wonder about the motivations and desires of the two men in the painting. Serenity
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Serenity is an original painting by Bright Toh. Bright created Serenity Acrylic on a 27.5W by 35.4H inches primed canvas. The artwork "Serenity" is a bright and colorful depiction of a lion head and rose flower, created entirely by a human hand. The combination of these two natural elements results in a stunning and harmonious image that exudes a sense of calm and tranquility. The lion head is the central focus of the artwork, rendered in vibrant hues of orange and yellow that evoke a sense of warmth and vitality. The lion's mane, which surrounds its powerful features, is depicted in a range of shades, from soft pastel pinks and purples to fiery reds and oranges. The overall effect is one of movement and fluidity as if the lion's mane is a living thing in and of itself. Intertwined with the lion's mane is a delicate rose flower, rendered in shades of pink and red that complement the warm tones of the lion's fur. The rose seems to emerge from the lion's mane as if it is a natural extension of the animal's power and beauty. The combination of these two elements creates a powerful visual metaphor, suggesting that beauty and strength can coexist in perfect harmony. Despite the boldness of its colors and imagery, "Serenity" also conveys a sense of calm and tranquility. The lion's expression is serene, and the rose is depicted in a way that suggests a sense of peace and stillness. The artwork invites the viewer to slow down and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the natural world, and to find solace in its quiet strength. Overall, "Serenity" is a powerful and evocative work of art that combines elements of nature in a way that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. Its vibrant colors and bold imagery capture the viewer's attention, while its underlying sense of peace and harmony invites reflection and contemplation. It is a testament to the beauty and power of the natural world and a reminder of the importance of finding serenity in our busy and often chaotic lives. Tarrasso. small square. House in the countryside. Original acrylic painting
Located in CORAL GABLES - MIAMI, FL
Les Guilleries. Original acrylic painting Casimiro Martínez Tarrassó, a painter known simply as Tarrassó. He was trained at the La Llotja School in Barcelona. He completed his studies in Paris, where he got to know first-hand the Fauvist works that were shaking the Parisian art scene at the time. This Fauve influence will continue to be palpable in his work throughout his life in features such as the strong chromatic contrast, the elevated and somewhat exaggerated perspective, the absolute disinterest in the human figure, which appears only sketched as a complement to the landscape, and the representation of trees as electrified, subjected to tortuous inclinations. It is these formal features that give his works their own vitality and reduce their connection with the referential to a mere pretext. Tarrassó followed in the wake of the great Catalan landscape painters, paying particular attention to Joaquín Mir, although with a clearly differentiated personality due in part to the impact that Fauvism had on his artistic thinking. He cultivated still life and Catalan and Majorcan landscapes. He held his first exhibition in 1928 in Barcelona. Since then his shows have followed in Barcelona, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Bilbao. In 1935 he visited Mallorca for the first time, and from 1940 on he will have a studio there, specifically in Palma, where he lived for long periods and developed most of his artistic production. After the Civil War, during the 1940s, Tarrassó took part in several National Exhibitions of Fine Arts, in their editions of 1942, 1943 and 1950. Although the landscape was always the center of his production, Tarrassó also made works such as the mural decoration of the church of Santa María de Badalona. In Mallorca he also carried out a unique undertaking, planting his trestle in the Campanet caves to capture the stalactites and stalagmites from their stone cavities, developing a series of works that he presented in 1948. Throughout his career, Tarrassó was awarded the Pollença Prize of the I International Painting Contest, in 1962; the Santiago Rusiñol...
