Boris Aleksandrovich, 1986, oil on canvas. This large genre scene captures a Ukrainian family spanning three generations. A muted colour palette and intricate details create a poignant atmosphere, emphasising the quiet dignity of rural life and the bonds between generations. Labouring families were a popular subject matter amongst post-war Soviet artists. The composition has been well presented in its original wooden frame. Monogrammed to the lower right. Signed, inscribed and titled verso.
