Colorado summer evening. A couple walks a path alongside a pond while their dog plays by the water. Warm light from the right illuminates the house and surrounding trees. Classical realism. "What could be better than a summer evening walk?" asks Nikolay Rizhankov. "I wanted to keep that impression."
About the Artist
Nikolay Rizhankov was born in Moscow, Russia and lived in Armenia for most of his life. He studied fine art and Russian Classical Painting at the National University of Art in Moscow and graduated with a Masters in Fine Art in 1989. In 2013, he relocated to Denver, Colorado. Nikolay paints landscape, portrait and still life paintings in the tradition of the Dutch masters. He uses only the highest quality linen canvases, masterfully stretching them and applying a special primer that will last the test of time. This approach gives Nikolay’s paintings lively energy, warmth and mystery. Fun fact: Nikolay is a tailor, and has his own line of jeans called Nick. However, there is only one pair available, and it belongs to him!

Nikolay Rizhankov
