Impressionist watercolor of a Bay Area island by listed California artist Alexander Nepote (American, 1913-1986). Signed "A. Nepote-38" lower right. Condition: Very good: some rippling on edges and age toning spots. Unframed. Image size: 15"H x 23"W. Nepote studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, at Mills College, and at the University of California where he received a Master's Degree. From 1945 to 1950, he was Dean of the Faculty at the California College of Arts and Crafts and served in the same capacity at San Francisco State College from 1950 to 1977.
