'Finding Home' is a large framed Impressionist oil on canvas painting of square format created by American artist Allison Chambers in 2020. Featuring a palette made of green, blue, turquoise, orange and brown tones among others, this painting depicts a marsh area occupied by a sinuous body of water leading our eyes throughout the composition. Flanked with vegetation on the sides and accented with the treeline in the background, this landscape is rendered with a fragmented Impressionist technique that confers great life to the ensemble. Set inside a champagne floater frame, this oil on canvas landscape painting is signed lower left. Without its frame, the painting measures 48 x 48 inches.
Allison’s softly rendered and beautifully painted landscapes and waterscapes capture light, depth and the constantly shifting movement of water, flora and fauna.
Her impasto technique incorporates the texture that only comes from the liberal use of a palette knife, tempered with the finesse of expert brushstrokes. With her color- and texture-driven paintings that range from medium to large scale, Allison’s true passion “is to create abstracted interpretations of life.” She has studied under Andy Braitman, Curt Butler, Nancy Franke and the late Ken Auster and is now a full-time artist and oil-painter teacher.
