19th century English landscape with Oak trees, a stream and sheep on a pathway.
A wonderful classic English landscape dating from the middle of the 19th century. This style of painting was and still is possibly the most popular subject in English art.
C.Brown was very influenced by the work of John Constable and his famous landscapes, along with the great classic landscape painters of the Norfolk school of artists.
The painting is an oil on panel and is framed in its original hand made English gold leaf frame.
