Dimension: 50 cm x 40 cm x 2 cm About the artist: David Garcia was born in 1950 in Jumilla, a well known wine producing town in Southwest Spain. When he was a teenager his family moved to Paris. His father, also an artist, used to paint and exhibit in Montmartre (Paris). It can be said that Montmartre was the very first art school for young David. Later on, he attended the Ecole National des Beaux-Art de Paris and in the Chapelain-Midy study. A few years later he left the capital and moved to the country side at the Bourgogne region. This region is a great source of inspiration for his fine, delicate and luminous landscapes. Nowadays, it is difficult to believe that his very first works were abstracts paintings. No one but himself knows the reason why his art developed in the sense that it did, opposite to other artists, normally from figurative to abstract but not from abstract to figurative. This is an amazing and fantastic evolution for an artist who reminds us of the old masters from the French “Ecole de Barbizon” like Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Jean-Francois Millet, Charles-Francois Daubigny, etc. All of them had a strong influence in the impressionists artists.
