About the Item
The winter Venice landscape is painted from life. It is a view from the spit of the Grand Canal to the Giudecca Canal and the embankment of the same name in the distance. In the haze of a winter day, we see the silhouette of the Il Redentore church, built in the 16th century by the architect Andrea Palladio. In the foreground is the edge of the embankment, the piles of the pier, as well the pier with an antenna. A little further away is a row of houses, a brick fence from behind which smoke is coming. Probably, someone lit a stove. The painting is maintained in the turquoise and terracotta colors typical of winter Venice. You can feel the light translucent fog, characteristic of this city in the winter months. The manner in which the work is executed is partly impressionistic.
The gallery presents Dmitry Yevtushenko, a professional artist who lives and works in Germany. Dmitry graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In art, he prefers to follow the traditions of craftsmanship, multiplied by direct impressions from what he has seen and experienced. And never stops improving his craftsmanship and artistic language.
Dmitry has participated in several dozen group and solo exhibitions in Russia and Germany. The artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, etc. A number of portraits are in the collection of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum. In 2007, the publishing house "White City" released a monograph with reproductions of his paintings in the series "Masters of Painting".
