Biography of Frederick E. Reimers (1911–1994) Frederick E. Reimers was born in New York City in 1911 and spent the later years of his life in Westfield, New Jersey, where he resided for 34 years until his passing on May 22, 1994. A dedicated chemical engineer, Reimers worked for 16 years at Amstar Co. in New York City before retiring in 1976. Before that, he spent 15 years as a chemical engineer at Merck & Co. in Rahway, New Jersey. His passion for art and craftsmanship also led him to become a ceramics teacher at the Westfield Recreation Department for 15 years. Beyond his professional contributions, Reimers was a local artist and an active member of several esteemed art organizations, including the Millburn-Short Hills Art Center, the Somerset Art Association, and the Westfield Art Association.
