Henry Maurice CAHOURS (Parigi, 1889 – Vence, 1974)
Nacque a Parigi, ma trascorse l'infanzia e l'adolescenza ad Amiens, dove frequentò l'Accademia di Belle Arti. Trasferitosi a Parigi, espose al Salon des Indépendants e al Salon d'Automne, partecipando attivamente alla vivacissima vita artistica della capitale. Dal 1930 è socio della Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts e dagli anni '60 è presente in prestigiose mostre all'estero. I suoi soggetti preferiti sono i paesaggi, in particolare quelli bretoni, di cui riesce a cogliere perfettamente l'atmosfera; nelle sue opere è presente una costante ricerca del colore e della luce tipici di quei luoghi, tanto da essere definito da un critico francese "il poeta della luce". La Galleria gli ha dedicato numerose mostre e monografie con catalogo generale delle opere.
