About the Item

Beautifully rendered seascape of a sailboat full of small figures out at sea on glassy water with colorful reflections by Jacquelyn Kammerer (American, b-1944). Signed "J. Krammerer" right center and on verso. Presented in a wooden frame with linen fillet. Image size, 20"H x 16"L. Jacquelyn Kammerer Cattaneo was born in Gallup, NM and grew up experiencing the unique atmosphere of the Southwest. As a spectator of many ethnic groups and the hypnotic light that enhances the New Mexico landscape, she has developed an intuitive approach to her subject's aura, be it a portrait, tree or landscape. Her art is acclaimed worldwide and collected by patrons through out the United States. She is listed in Who's Who in American Art, is a signature member of The Pastel Society of The West Coast {PSWC}, holding a double membership in oil and soft pastel in the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club {CLWAC} since 1984, and was awarded permanent certification by The American Portrait Society of America in 1985 {APSC}, and now a signature member Landscape Artists International {LAI}. Her work was included in The International Artist Magazine, 2005, featuring a soft pastel landscape, titled "Rooted & Rerouted" and 2008 The Richeson 75 International Still-life and Floral competition bound publication featuring two {2} soft pastel paintings. Jacquelyn has acted as an invited ambassador of art through art exchanges in the following countries: Russia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, the Greek Islands, Spain, Israel, Egypt, Italy, and Brazil and Maritime Canadian Islands. In 2004 Cattaneo was awarded; The PSA Award in the 108th Juried Annual Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and First Place Pastel in the Member's Only show of the same art organization. An Award of Merit was earned in the PSA's Dunedin Invitational Exhibition. In 2005 Cattaneo was awarded Second Place Pastel in the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's Member's only show, New York.
