About the Item

Inspired by the landscape, my new series of paintings present both a micro (snail's view) and macro (bird's eye aerial view) of nature revealing the textures and colours found in grass, ponds and undulating hills. Painted on aluminium, the surface reflects a light that seems to be emitted from within the painting. The painting is mounted on circular MDF and ready to hang on the wall and appears to float 1cm from the wall. "My work draws upon journeys, on the interplay between the experience and memory of places with a hidden history. The initial stage of my creative process is to make video-walks, I then base my paintings and prints on the videos – seemingly abstract, but with a basis in the seen world. My goal is that my pieces transcend particular places and become spaces in which to lose oneself. They explore the importance of quiet contemplation in a chaotic world." Jonathan Moss exhibits his work internationally and in the UK. By Henry Walsh

Consone II by Henry Walsh is an original acrylic painting on a 4cm deep canvas that features a supposed busy atmosphere of many people at leisure, but at the same time is sparse. Henry is now a freelance artist & designer concentrating more time to his painting. Artist and painter Henry Walsh comments “My work begins with snapshots of busy city life and by a process of elimination I refocus the image on elements that encapsulate a sober thoughtfulness." "Scattered throughout the hustle and bustle of concrete life, like pools among the rocks, are the parks and squares that provide us with a place to breathe and a time to think. It is a fundamental need of a sane society to be able to stop once in a while and wander from the routine, lift our heads and look at the sky or take in our regular surroundings with a fresh insight.” “Sitting on the top deck of a London bus, I let my mind stroll over the lives of the people on the street, they obtain new life stories; I’m placing myself in their shoes...
