Inspiration: After being selected the wild card winner by judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano during Heat 2 of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of The Year 2018, I felt motivated to use the hot long summer in the UK to do as much painting outdoor as possible. This included participating in the ‘Spirit of the Stour’ Painting competition run by the Munnings Museum in Dedham near Colchester in August. I produced 3 paintings over the course of the 2 day competition, this being one of them.
