Master of Landscapes Correr
18th Century Architectural Capricci Correr Landscapes Nature Oil on Canvas White

About the Item

Pair of paintings, oil on canvas, measuring 55 x 72 cm without frame and 65 x 80 cm with coeval Venetian lacquered frame, depicting two fantasy landscapes by Master of Landscapes Correr (active in Venice in the second half of the 18th century) . We know that he had a lot of inspiration from Marco Ricci's engravings and the scenographic format of his landscapes derives from these engravings, often framed by patches of trees with villages and figures of peasants inserted in the middle, paintings rich in dense colors and with often elongated shapes; the result is a pleasant style with great descriptive power. In this painting we can see how the romantic and bucolic theme of Marco Ricci had an immediate influence on the lively and restless genius of the Master of Landscapes Correr; a nature, in which the characters are immersed, interpreted as a mystery to be discovered seen in its most enigmatic chiaroscuro contrasts but at the same time the artist blunts the most dramatic points in the impetus of inspiration by anchoring himself to the picturesque and grandiose reality of the places born. Even in the most imaginative lighting, the landscape motif always has a real starting point in the master and therefore a true and human dimension; in this painting we can see these bright and lively colors that try to explain to us how beautiful, strong, vigorous but at the same time sweet and docile nature is around us and in which we get lost. It is wonderful to notice how a tiny group of people are on one hand busy in their duties but at the same time seem lost in the serenity and tranquility of this landscape from another era. The paintings and works of art published here are my exclusive property and therefore are always available to be viewed, by appointment, in my exhibition sites located in Sanremo and Brescia. Oil on Tempera painting depicting a beautiful architectonic capriccio measuring 76 x 160 without frame and 97 x 173 with a beautiful coeval lacquered frame from the Emilian school of the late 1600s early 1700s by Pietro Paltronieri (Mirandola 1673 - Bologna 1741) called il Mirandolese. This capriccio painted with a characteristic chromatic - luministic drafting is marked by a frank and rapid stylistic code which in turn is characterized by an inventive essentiality and an immediate execution, as it is clear that the author's aims are concentrated on the pictorial act, with fully enjoyable results both on an exquisitely decorative and on a formal level, thanks to the multiple escape routes...
