This Nahuala Coop, 100% women farmer produced washed Guatemala heirloom coffee features sweet, clean and bright aromas of hazelnut. The flavor is rich, with notes of chocolate, citrus and roasted nuts, finishing smooth and lingering.

As a painter, I examine how the depiction of light contributes to our experience of paintings. The portrayal of light helps a painting to convey the atmosphere and mood of a scene, and is much of what enables a painting to convey depth and realism. Our perception of lighting features occurs largely through pathways in the brain that carry only black and white information, pathways which are distinct from areas that encode the colors and details we use to delineate specific objects. By painting in grayscale, I try to interact specifically with this region of our visual system, with the hope of conveying some of the spaciousness and emotional significance that light can imbue on scenes. Light, whether as the crisp contrast of a back-lit forest or the gray haze of an industrial landscape, is what defines a scene. Its power to communicate the feel of a place is the principle subject of my paintings.

Will’s new landscapes are inspired by the shorelines of Lake Erie and the farmland of Norfolk County, Ontario. His true project – to explore and capture sudden bursts of cloud light, a disintegrating horizon, the ephemeral nature of shifting shores and lands.

Recognized for seductive, enigmatic works in oil on wood panel, Will's picture surfaces are fascinating – he favors oil paint with chalk and graphite – and often allows the wood grain to emerge as a natural texture. Will Hudson is a formally trained architect originally from the UK, now practicing in Toronto, Canada. With an eclectic career in the art world, Will has shown and performed chalk street painting and murals in across North America and Europe. His installations have been exhibited at Nuit Blanche in Toronto in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014. Will’s new landscapes are inspired by the shorelines of Lake Erie and the farmland of Norfolk County, Ontario. His true project – to explore and capture sudden bursts of cloud light, a disintegrating horizon, the ephemeral nature of shifting shores and lands.

Recognized for seductive, enigmatic works in oil on wood panel, Will's picture surfaces are fascinating – he favors oil paint with chalk and graphite – and often allows the wood grain to emerge as a natural texture. He finishes each painting with a clear resin that operates as a lens. Admitting light and transmitting light, lending a palpable warmth and liquidity to the experience.
Will Hudson is a formally trained architect originally from the UK, now practicing in Toronto, Canada. With an eclectic career in the art world, Will has shown and performed chalk street painting and murals in across North America and Europe. His installations have been exhibited at Nuit Blanche in Toronto in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014.
