Maureen Tarazon (1934-) San Antonio Artist Image Size: 16 x 20 Frame Size: 21 x 25 Medium: Oil 2023 "Sun Sisters" Biography Maureen Tarazon (1934-Present) Maureen (Mrs. Louis Tarazon) Born 1934 London, England. San Antonio Texas Artist Maureen Tarazon was born in London, England and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1958. She married Louis Tarazon in 1954 and together they have three children. Early years were spent studying under the direction of her father, Archibald Reeves. Later she continued her studies at the London Polytechnic. The artist has lived in San Antonio, Texas from 1970. She traveled many years with her husband resulting in a variety of painting subjects from Roman ruins in Turkey to English country gardens. She recently returned from painting in Monet's garden at Giverny, France. Tarazon also produced, wrote and illustrated the children's book, "Raucous Dorcus". Her works have been sold in galleries throughout the state and country.

She won numerous awards over her long career, including, among others, first prize at All Illinois Society of Fine Arts, Chicago and purchase prize at the Witte Museum, San Antonio, and was exhibited in New York City, San Francisco, Wilmington, Austin, and San Antonio, Texas.
