About the Item
West Coast artist Phillip Schuster is a well known maritime painter who was born in 1948. This work, signed by him in the lower left and titled “Last Days” on the reverse side, may be referring to the end of the voyage for this schooner.
The ship and its open water setting are beautifully rendered in quite convincing and realistic detail. The sky beyond shows a cloud front rolling in on what was likely a clear day for sailing. It’s painted on artist’s board, measuring 8” x 10”. It is framed in a weathered wood frame with a linen and gold edged liner. The overall framed dimensions are 12 1/4” x 14 3/8”.
The painting and frame are in excellent condition and ready to hang in the location of your choice and enjoy.
