About the Item
Beautiful and chromatically intense coastal landscape by Damián Segarra Codina, a Catalan artist born in 1936. Nationally renowned, he has exhibited in various cities across Spain. The landscape is calm and tranquil thanks to the multitude of blue and green tones. A sumptuous technique, with densities of material raked by the brush. This painter from Badalona began to gain renown for his seaside compositions and those featuring exquisite women, eventually turning to pure landscape painting, driven by the tastes of the people. Signed lower right.
Antonio Cobos, art critic for the newspaper "YA," wrote: "The power of attraction of Segarra Codina's painting is so unusual that its reasons must be found in the existence of a retina, so abnormal in its acuity, which allows the artist to perceive what is imperceptible to others. Only in this way can one conceive the reds and cadmiums that explode among shady greens or settle in floral streams on backgrounds of whitewashed walls."
