About the Item
Germany, 1824-1895
German painter Adolph Stademann was born in Munich, Germany in 1824.
He received painting lessons from Carl August Lebschée and the landscape painter Moritz Lotze.
Initially, Stademann mainly painted night views. Later in his career he began to specialize in winter landscapes. In most of his later paintings we find the influences of the great Dutch painters of the 17th century. Century, which he greatly admired.
Adolph Stademann died in 1895 in his native city.
Stademann's paintings can be found in the museums of Munich, Frankfurt,
Baden-Baden, Linz, Lübeck and Mainz.
