An explosion of colour-bright yellow, turquoise, and orange draw the viewer’s eye to this dramatic landscape by Sylvain Louis-Seize. The Montreal artist is known for his abstracted form and bold use of colour. Here he captures the Italian countryside as sunlight floods the land. The vivid colours of the sky contrast with the dark forms of the trees and the fields. A stream, luminous in white flows through the center of the canvas. The word, ‘THIS’ appears at the top of the painting—an homage, perhaps to Louis-Seize’s street art and graffiti origins.
