About the Item
Huile sur toile XIXe siècle Dim sans cadre 61/48 Dim avec cadre 75/61 Ecole française Signé Theodore Levigne en bas droite. Théodore Levigne est un peintre français, né le 17 novembre 1848 à Noirétable et mort le 11 novembre 1912. Sa famille s’installe à Lyon en 1856 dans le quartier de Saint-Jean. Il intègre l’École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon de 1860 à 1862. Notre tableau est un classique de Levigne, un paysage de neige, mais sa production est parfois inégale en terme de qualité. Le présent tableau par contre est très intéressant dans la composition, il y a une belle profondeur, le regard se ballade dans la peinture, ensuite il y a un très beau contraste, le blanc de la neige qui se dessine sur un fond sombre , un ciel plombé, puis la qualité du dessin qui laisse parfois à désirer sur certains tableaux, là au contraire, les canards sont bien représentés, la touche est sûre, on peu constater une réelle habileté du peintre.
