About the Item

Pair of important paintings signed and dated by the great English artist Thomas Hutchinson Peddie (1871-1954). One painting depicts James VI of Scotland during a falcon hunting scene near Perth 1580. The other Mary Queen of Scots in her boat on the River Tay in Perth 1564. Signed and dated 1942 Oil on masonite Painted with a technique that we can call “Divisionist”, when viewed from life, they render a stunning hyperrealist effect. These two monumental, beautiful paintings, have their original brass tags with descriptions of the subject. PEDDIE Thomas Hutchinson 1871-1954 Tom Peddie was born in Scone, Scotland and from the 1890s he lived in London where he worked as a watercolour painter, illustrator, cartoonist and poster designer. These pair of paintings, never before on the market, comes from an important private collection and are beautified by an impressive antique white lacquered wood frames. Every item of our Gallery, upon request, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Sabrina Egidi official Expert in Italian furniture for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil Courts. This artwork is shipped from Rome.
