About the Item

Beautiful oil painting on panel by the great Spanish artist Martin Rebollo Tomas (Granada, 12.5.1858 - Madrid, 7.2.1919). Like most artists, he came to Italy, particularly Rome, for his artistic training. In this small Impressionist masterpiece, he demonstrates all his immense qualities as a painter of bucolic atmospheres. In a small area, he manages to create a setting of rare intensity, transmitting to the viewer a sense of peaceful abandonment, as well as a very strong aesthetic pleasure. This artwork, never before on the market, comes from a private collection and is beautified by an impressive antique frame in ebonized wood, in almost perfect condition. Every item of our Gallery, upon request, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Sabrina Egidi official Expert in Italian furniture for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil Courts. Tomas Martín Rebollo began his apprenticeship with Julián Sanz del Valle, a painter from Barcelona, but in 1883 he decided to move to Madrid to attend the San Fernando School of Fine Arts. He completed his training in Rome with a scholarship from the Diputación de Granada. He took part in and won an honourable mention at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1908. Back in Italy, he travelled around the country painting popular scenes. On returning to Spain, he settled in Madrid, where he worked as a copyist in the Prado Museum, where a small work by his hand is preserved. This artwork is shipped from Rome. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died can requires a license for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the license according to the destination of the artwork. Dimensions are frame included
