About the Item

The painting captures a serene moment on the foothill plateau, just as the day is beginning to wake up. The mountains are still wrapped in a soft blanket of morning fog, giving the scene an almost dreamy feel. Already, the peasants are out in the fields... And although their work is hard, there’s a sense of blessing in it and quiet confidence that their effort will be rewarded with a good harvest. The soft, muted color palette employed by the artist serves to enhance the scene's inherent tranquility. Painted by an unknown professional artist, presumably in the late 18th century. Antique oil painting on canvas, unsigned apparently, unframed. Size app. 68 x 90 cm (roughly 26.8 x 35.4 in). Overall in very good conserved ready to hang condition with just minimal wear. Canvas was relined within conservation likely few decades ago. Please study good resolution images for cosmetic condition.
