About the Item
The underpainting is done with watercolour. This is really tricky for few reasons. It took me a considerable amount of time to work out the canvas maker that is suitable for the effect. For the paint to give me these beautiful semi translucent washes, the cotton has to be the right grain and correctly primed. The underpainting takes very little room for mistake and even now sometimes I scrap the canvas and start all over. There is very special fast drying medium used to cover delicate layers with the right amount of thin oil paint and to make the pigment more fade resistant and prevent from any yellowing. This stage is repeated many times to build the satisfactory depth. I then go with a tiny brush to go over the edges and borders, adding definition with acrylic. Final two - the signature, usually on the front though some paintings I leave unsigned on the front till they are sold, so the buyer can cast his/her wish to see my surname on the front or back of the artwork The paper planes connected a thin thread which they tied up to each other or the clouds. S t o r y The Migration collection is intend to capture the subject of departure focusing on positive effects of separation, leaving, breaking ties. The paper airplane is a faceless portrait of a traveler, explorer and a pioneer. 120x100 cm / 47"x39" 2.86cm white edge Gloss varnish (gentle shine) to protect from UV, dust and scuffing. Mid grain cotton canvas only artist quality paints, mediums and varnish. shipped stretched ready to go on the wall.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Yuliya is a mix media artist working on several signature collections. She draws beauty in her surroundings and not afraid to venturing out to explore new directions. Drawings, oil painting, watercolour on paper and canvas, her varied work is seamlessly united by a distinct flow and unmistakably unique elegance.
I was born in Kazakhstan (Aktau) on the shores of the Caspian Sea in a small oily town in the middle of the desert. Spent most of my happy childhood summers in leafy North Kazakhstan (Shuchinsk) at grand mother's farm house, foraging in the forest, swimming in the lakes and looking after animals. Later in life my parents (both engineers) chose for me to go study Law driven by prestige of the occupation.
Art classes was a parallel activity during my school years since the age of 10 and despite high praising from the teachers art was dismissed as a career direction due to being unpractical. I have then spent 15 years in quasi legal career in banking, oil and gas, private clients and consulting industries both in Kazakhstan and the UK before one day deciding to abandon the office all together to give myself a chance to become a serious artist.
The subject matter is often to lift the weight of existence and find a thread that pulls you forward to evolve and change yourself or your attitude towards challenging circumstances in life.
Inspiration comes within. The final outcome of the artwork is often uncertain. Where do you draw a last line is existential to every piece I consider finished. It starts with need to lock myself in the studio room and find way to the outer places within.

WATER AND LIGHT (THE THIEF) - Rainbow, Spring Nature Painting of Kudzu Vine
By Heather Hartman
Located in Signal Mountain, TN
WATER AND LIGHT (THE THIEF) by Heather Hartman, made for her show "Kudzu Season," is one of a series of four paintings representing the four seasons relative to the Kudzu growth cycle. "Water and Light" is the spring-inspired painting of this seasonal series. During the spring, the kudzu plant begins to awaken from its winter dormancy. The predominantly light blue/sage green atmosphere of this painting gives way to the vibrant curve of a rainbow on the right-hand side of the painting. The leaves of a tree in the background give us the sense that plant life is beginning to flourish. The silhouette of a bare kudzu vine...
