About the Item
PROCESS: The underpainting is done with watercolour. This is really tricky for few reasons. It took me a considerable amount of time to work out the canvas maker that is suitable for the effect. For the paint to give me these beautiful semi translucent washes, the cotton has to be the right grain and correctly primed. The underpainting takes very little room for mistake and even now sometimes I scrap the canvas and start all over.
There is very special fast drying medium used to cover delicate layers with the right amount of thin oil paint and to make the pigment more fade resistant and prevent from any yellowing. This stage is repeated many times to build the satisfactory depth.
I then go with a tiny brush to go over the edges and borders, adding definition with acrylic.
Final two - the signature, usually on the front (but some paintings I leave unsigned on the front till they are sold, so the buyer can cast his/her wish to see my surname on the front or back of the artwork).
STORY: The Migration collection is intend to capture the subject of departure focusing on positive effects of separation, leaving, breaking ties.
The paper airplane is a faceless portrait of a traveler, explorer and a pioneer. Object with simple light emotion bringing back the carefree childhood moments and playfulness. Imposing or sometimes enveloping this directive element with the clouds I strengthen the message to emphasise the scale of ever-changing terrain around us.
The clouds are big and strong. Paper planes to the contrary — small and fragile. Not suppose to fly that far or high these little vessels, just like we are, found themselves redefining their limits. Also the detail that connects paper airplanes comes from my Connected series on paper. Visual form showing companionship is found in every journey we take.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Yuliya is a mix media artist working on several signature collections. She draws beauty in her surroundings and not afraid to venturing out to explore new directions. Drawings, oil painting, watercolour on paper and canvas, her varied work is seamlessly united by a distinct flow and unmistakably unique elegance.
I was born in Kazakhstan (Aktau) on the shores of the Caspian Sea in a small oily town in the middle of the desert. Spent most of my happy childhood summers in leafy North Kazakhstan (Shuchinsk) at grand mother's farm house, foraging in the forest, swimming in the lakes and looking after animals. Later in life my parents (both engineers) chose for me to go study Law driven by prestige of the occupation.
Art classes was a parallel activity during my school years since the age of 10 and despite high praising from the teachers art was dismissed as a career direction due to being unpractical. I have then spent 15 years in quasi legal career in banking, oil and gas, private clients and consulting industries both in Kazakhstan and the UK before one day deciding to abandon the office all together to give myself a chance to become a serious artist.
The subject matter is often to lift the weight of existence and find a thread that pulls you forward to evolve and change yourself or your attitude towards challenging circumstances in life.
Inspiration comes within. The final outcome of the artwork is often uncertain. Where do you draw a last line is existential to every piece I consider finished. It starts with need to lock myself in the studio room and find way to the outer places within.

Tree of Love, Abstract Painting, Colourfield Painting, Large Statement Art
By Jon Rowland
Located in Deddington, GB
Jon Rowland – The emotional response to the subject of the ‘Tree of Life’ was a focus was on paint and feeling. Strong colours and the free flow of form breaking out from what seems like constraining structures are the result. To categorise it as landscape or still life is not what this painting is about. It is what it is.
Discover new paintings by Jon Rowland and his abstract expressionism with Wychwood Art. Each work has been carefully selected by Deborah Allan our Chief Art Curator. Wychwood Art have exhibited Jon Rowland in London during a pop-up exhibition of theirs at the Darren Baker Gallery. His paintings have been displayed at the Royal Academy and at the Berthold and Darren Baker Gallery in London. He has also exhibited in group exhibitions at Linacre and Green Colleges, at Swann Gallery in Woodstock, and with Wychwood Art at Battersea Art Fair. He was one of six contemporary artists who took part in an exhibition of views of Blenheim Palace, juxtaposing the original visions with today's, as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Capability Brown's birth. Solo exhibitions have been at the Said Business School, Wolfson College in Central Oxford, and most recently at the Sewell Centre Art Gallery and Cornerstone Art Centre in Oxfordshire, and the Boiler Room...

What the Night Delivers Black and Yellow Art Abstract Painting, Contemporary Art
By Gina Parr
Located in Deddington, GB
What the night delivers" an original abstract contemporary landscape by Gina Parr and other works from the series "Love or Money", explore the deep emotional connection with land and sea scape that the Artist's father gave to her; taking her with him on his day and night fishing trips when she was a child. Working with the memories and emotions of both joy and saudade for time past and life experience gained, her practice reflects her fundamental need to express this bitter- sweet nature of the human condition through abstracted scape and form. In this work Parr is interested in conveying both the joy and the apprehension of her memory of an overnight trip in the darkness to fish with her father.
Gina Parr is available online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Gina works predominantly in the medium of painting, but also photographs when traveling: her way of painting whilst on the move. Her work is driven by autobiographical themes and natural reference, exploring the human condition through connections to place, time, space and memory. She has exhibited widely in galleries and art fairs in the UK and completed commissions in The Middle East, Belguim and London. Her works are held in collections Worldwide including Keble College Oxford, Director of Jestico + Whiles Architects London, President of the Boston's Children's Museum USA, and Goldman Sachs Senior Economist, London. Originally trained as a Fine Artist, graduating with a First Class BA Honours Degree, she went on to Chelsea College of Art to study Set...
