About the Item
In 2024, Grégoire Mathias chose to create a series of paintings representing the 9 muses of Antiquity. This is the very first in the series. His style is closer to the cubism of the “golden section” than to the diachronic cubism usually used by Grégoire. This being a necessity given the subject depicted.
The muse is shown here in her plurality, like the art she inspires. The colors evoke the feelings and emotions that poetry can produce, varied but also contrasting.

Grégoire Mathias graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.
He is exhibited at the Sotheby's gallery in Périgueux, and in several galleries in Paris, New York and Dublin.
Grégoire Mathias is the inventor of diachronic cubism. An unxeplored way of cubism, who shows landscapes, situations and above all, the notion of time. His works are at the same time a decomposition of subjects, lights, in a specific period of time.
Note that since 2020 the artist is making UN posters via the WFUNA, and that he is the first French artist to produce works for the association after Picasso, Chagall, Miro and Vasarely.
