Domestic scene painting of two young girls reading from a book. Another figure sits in a doorway in the background occupied by something in her hands. The canvas is framed in an elegant gold frame. It is signed by the artist and dated in the bottom corner.

Artist Biography: Oszkar Glatz was a Hungarian painter who was born in 1872. After studying art history he attended the private school of Simon Hollósy from 1892, and trained himself at the Julian Academy from 1893. Returning for a short stint in Munich in 1895, he was already working in Nagybánya in 1896, painting upon the Izvora. He was a core member of MIÉNK and also participated in laying the foundations of the Szinyei Society. He taught at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts between 1914 and 1938. The artist died in 1958.

Oszkar Glatz
Oszkár Glatz was a Hungarian painter who was born in 1872. After studying art history, he attended the private school of Simon Hollósy from 1892, and trained himself at the Académie Julian from 1893.
