LATEST NEWS: the new feature-length documentary on Chris Gollon's life and work 'CHRIS GOLLON: Life in Paint' had its World Premier at the Barbican Centre, London, on 29th Oct 2024, as part of the Doc 'N Roll Festival. The film features interviews with Maggi Hambling, Thurston Moore, Eleanor McEvoy, as well as art historians, leading collectors and writers. North American Premiere is in New York 6th May 2025.

British artist Chris Gollon (1953 - 2017) enjoyed many solo museum exhibitions, and his work has been acquired by public collections including the British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and the River & Rowing Museum. To be released in late 2024, a feature-length documentary has just been made on his life and work, featuring Maggi Hambling, Thurston Moore, and various art historians including his biographer Tamsin Pickeral. Gollon had great empathy for people and warmth for humanity, and was a pioneer of artistic boundary crossing, where one art form changes or affects another. This work comes from the first of a two-year collaboration with Irish singer-songwriter Eleanor McEvoy, and takes its title from a song she co-wrote with Dave Rotheray, ex-The Beautiful South.
Supplied to the purchaser will be a copy of the artist's biography 'Chris Gollon: Humanity in Art' by Tamsin Pickeral ( Hughes & Hughes, 2010) endorsed by Bill Bryson OBE.
Supplied in a bespoke frame, designed by Chris and hand-made by Possible Frame, London. Dimensions shown are unframed. Including frame measurements are: 24" x 20" x 2".
