Henri Venne was born in Joliette in 1966 but now lives and works in Montreal. Since 1994, he has been showing his artwork, a combination of semi-abstract photography and painting, in solo and group shows throughout many galleries and museums in Quebec. Some of his most important shows include his solo exhibitions (D’)après nature (after nature) in 2004 at the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Arts and still life in 2006 at Art Mûr gallery, which represents him in Montreal. He holds a masters degree from Concordia University in Fine Arts (1999) and now teaches art classes at Vanier and André Grasset Colleges, University of Montreal’s Department of Cultural Activities and also at Art Neuf Cultural Center. His work is now part of many collections, namely the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Arts, the Canada Council Art Bank, la Collection Prêt d’oeuvres d’art du Musée National des Beaux Arts du Québec, of Loto-Québec and Fasken Martineau-Dumoulin (Montreal) and also in private collections. This extra large montage of photographs is mounted onto aluminum from Ken Gonzales-Day's dysmorphologies series.
Ken Gonzales-Day's interdisciplinary and conceptually grounded projects consider the history of photography, the construction of race, and the limits of representational systems ranging from the lynching photograph to museum display. The Searching for California Hang Trees series offered a critical look at the legacies of landscape photography in the West while his most recent project considers the sculptural depiction of race. Profiled began as an exploration of the influence of eighteenth century "scientific" thought on twenty-first century institutions ranging from the museum to the prison and extended to the sculpture and portrait bust collections of several major museums including: The J. Paul Getty Museum; The Field Museum, Chicago; The Museum of Man, San Diego; L'École des beaux-arts,Paris. The Bode Museum, Berlin, Park Sanssouci, Potsdam; The National Museum of Natural History, Paris; The Yale Center for British Art, New Haven; among others. Gonzales-Day lives in Los Angeles and is Chair of the Art Department at Scripps College.

One theme that threads throughout her entire body of work is an appreciation and concern for the natural environment around us. In Chalk Streams, Davies looks at the delicate ecosystems that are under threat.
Chalk streams are a unique ecosystem that house a high biodiversity of plants and creatures. Their cool, fresh waters come from rain that permeates the chalk, filtering it and allowing it to flow through the flinty bedrock and emerge further down slopes as purely clear mineral water.

One theme that threads throughout her entire body of work is an appreciation and concern for the natural environment around us. In Chalk Streams, Davies looks at the delicate ecosystems that are under threat.
Chalk streams are a unique ecosystem that house a high biodiversity of plants and creatures. Their cool, fresh waters come from rain that permeates the chalk, filtering it and allowing it to flow through the flinty bedrock and emerge further down slopes as purely clear mineral water.

When she is traveling and away from her painting studio, Parr uses a camera as her way of ‘painting’ whilst on the move, Often mistaken as reproductions of her paintings, her photographs are in fact Original Limited Edition pieces.
Habana Series Cuba 2016 was produced, whilst the Artist scoured each street of Old Havana, Cuba in January 2016. Photographed because of their inherent illusion of horizon and form, these chance marks, stains, colours and textures on walls and other surfaces, some of which have partly been laid down by others by accident or with previous intent, become chimerical worlds and fictional places. The photographs, which Parr has named after where they were taken, further confirm things not being as they seem, a pictured utopia found in the still squalid but reforming streets of Havana, Cuba.
