About the Item

Cresta St. Moritz, Switzerland -2023 Archival Pigment Print on 315gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta Paper Each is signed, dated and numbered on the front. Edition Size: 12 Available sizes: 52 x 75 inches 71 x 105 inches What makes the Cresta Club in St Moritz unique is not the racetrack, or the setting, but its members. I knew from the moment that I undertook this project, that a single photograph would fail if I didn’t convey, not just a sense of place, or the sport itself, but a sense of “Club”. The Cresta Club, officially known as the St Moritz Tobogganing Club, has been in existence since 1887 and remains one of St Moritz’s most exclusive institutions - and there are quite a few. It has a very British stamp to it and there is a sense of being at an old boys reunion at Harrow, but it welcomes all nations and all characters. For what could be a rather stuffy golf club culture, it is defined by its lack of stuffiness. It is a Club where people have fun and refuse to grow up and surely that should always be applauded. My dilemma was how to take a picture that was authentic, fun and told a story of its members. I needed the track and a rider, but I also needed the faces in the crowd. For safety reasons these subjects tend to be mutually exclusive. The solution was for me to positioned just down the track from the start and roped in like a mountaineer so that I didn’t travel down the course on my backside with my cameras. I knew already how treacherous it is as I slipped in my early morning reconnaissance and lost a tooth. The Cresta Run is 3/4s of a mile of downhill sheet ice; start falling down the tunnel and you have a long way to go until you stop. The Club was entertained by my planned position and graciously roped me in. I doubt a camera had ever had this angle before - well certainly not with a rider as glamorous as Frida Aasen on the skeleton. The members behind her were doing what they do best - enjoying the day.

Skyfall in Black and White, Fine Art Photography 2025
By David Yarrow
Located in Vienna, AT
A woman standing near a sportscar in classical Scottish attire was photographed by David Yarrow in 2025. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. This stunning image by David Yarrow captures a dramatic, cinematic moment set against the rugged and breathtaking landscape of the Scottish Highlands. At the center of the composition is a silver Aston Martin DB5, an iconic vehicle synonymous with James Bond, parked on a remote, weathered road. The car’s sleek elegance contrasts with the raw, untamed surroundings, reinforcing the sense of adventure and espionage. To the left, a striking female figure is seen from behind, leaning on the car with one hand, while holding a small pistol in the other. She is dressed in a tweed blazer, a matching cap, and knee-high green boots, with bare legs adding a bold, provocative element. Her presence exudes power and intrigue, reminiscent of a classic Bond femme fatale. On the right side, a red British telephone booth...

Available in the following sizes: 52 x 63 inches, Edition of 12 71 x 87 inches, Edition of 12 “My plan was to build a set around an old Wild West railway line and go back 100 years. Perhaps we could then celebrate life on the final frontier with a photograph that could be printed large and benefit from the extraordinary resolution of modern-day cameras. I wanted a vignette with picturesque sentimentality. The community of Durango, Colorado was so supportive of the plan that 80 extras were sourced with no difficulty and there was warm approval to build the set near the main ski area...
