Didion’s voice is unmistakable—cool, controlled, and emotionally piercing. She was a pioneer of New Journalism, a literary movement that blended journalistic reporting with the techniques of fiction. Her work often explores themes of dislocation, memory, grief, and the fragility of institutions, all written in an elegant, spare prose style. She became something of a cultural icon—admired for both her intellect and her distinctive aesthetic. Even her personal style (sharp suits, big sunglasses, a cigarette in hand) became iconic. From the iconic Hitchcock series to extravagant shoots for Iris van Herpen, the British star photographer is one of the founding fathers of fine art photography. Throughout the last four decades, Albert Watson has made a name for himself as one of the world’s most successful fashion and advertising photographers, creating over 100 Vogue covers. Mick Jagger, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, or David Bowie – Watson has captured the Who’s Who. No matter the genre, landscape, portraiture, nudes, or fashion, Watson is always curious and ready to venture into new subject worlds and has remained just as an essential creative force to this day. Watson has had retrospective exhibitions at renowned museums and art institutions, such as the Kunsthaus Wien, Vienna, The Museum of Modern Art, Milan, The Photography Museum, Antwerp, and the NWR forum in Duesseldorf. His images are in the private collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Albert Watson
Albert Watson studied graphic design before becoming a photographer. His manipulation of contrast and superior sense of composition distinguish his portraits of celebrities and models. With an emphasis on the formal and sculptural properties of his sitters' bodies, Watson's images have not only appeared in numerous American and European fashion magazines but also in museum and gallery exhibitions.
In Watson’s famous nude photographs of Kate Moss taken on her 18th birthday in 1993, the model's spine pokes through the skin of her curved back, like the scales of a dinosaur, while the right side of her body is entirely shaded. In a 1989 portrait, Naomi Campbell's head is silhouetted against a grey surface, while her bare shoulders and the arch of her back are illuminated. In 2010, he was awarded the Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal and Honorary Fellowship.
