The subjects for his striking and captivating visuals are typically set in the most ordinary environments, drawing the viewer into a charged but serene experience based on composition, palette and formal lines. Saturated in color, the nominal subjects gather a haunting and mesmerizing quality, creating a poignant pretext for the making of a formal color photograph. Decisively capturing the traces left by humanity, Pawassar's images are filled with a sense of universal nostalgia and pay homage to the passage of time and the extinguished moment, referencing documentary and street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastian Salgado, Raghubir Singh and Edward Burtynsky as early influences. Pawassar's profession as a highly sought-after photo retoucher informs his images with a heightened sensitivity to color and a discerning sense of detail - but while his daily work revolves around impeccably retouched compositions and flawless digital refineries, Pawassar's artwork is created exclusively in-camera, Erik Pawassar was born in Bielefeld, Germany in 1968. He currently lives and works in San Francisco. ________________________________ Artist statement about the Persephone series: "The series PERSEPHONE is a documentation of the traces of a person’s existence. It was photographed in my neighbor's apartment in San Francisco, an elderly Greek immigrant named Persephone, in the home she had inhabited for more than 35 years, captured on the day she moved to a retirement home, leaving behind traces of her life that are faint yet lurid. Life seems to have permeated and superseded the walls, creating a structure of its own with markings like fingerprints that hint at the presence of the life once within them. They will soon disappear and be lost. I hope to have preserved this unique state as a memory of Persephone’s existence." ________________________________ Edition EKTAlux offers an evolving curated selection of collectable large-scale photography in strictly limited editions, while working closely with each artist to guarantee state-of-the-art museum level print and framing quality. Ancient Woodland, North Norfolk, Mandala and Collage of Woodland Nature

Ancient Woodland All the elements used were collected from the first walk with my Mum and stepdad between lockdowns. All from a small woodland in North Norfolk. Ancient Woodland, 2020 Series: Detritus Archival Pigment Print, Mounted on Dibond in custom made Frame; with Black Stained Oak and antireflective UV protective museum standard Art Glass Print 60 x 60 cm / Framed: 62 x 62 cm/ 24.5 x 24.5 inches approx. Edition of 8 + 2AP About the project: "Detritus' series was born from the twin frustrations of lockdown halting all planned projects, yet litter still somehow being dropped in abundance on my street. With no idea of the final output, or indeed the hygiene implications, I started to collect, scan, and record what I found. When I realised these colourful misshapen objects could be turned into something beautiful, the frustrations left me and I began looking for other sources of Detritus. These collages gave me purpose during the pandemic and allowed me to grow something beautiful from a place of frustration. My aim is to simply give viewers of the work a fleeting moment of calm. Unable to shoot anything, I’ve been making collections of things I find on the ground and scanning them to create composite images of otherwise ignored or discarded objects." - George McLeod...

Diasec® mounting is a time proven system that has set the benchmark for face mounting photographic and fine art prints. Developed in the late 1960’s Diasec® was the first system that allowed photographs to be bonded directly and permanently to acrylic sheet. Diasec® panels are backed with pure aluminium sheet, reinforcing the rigidity of the finished panel. Giving a beautiful profile when viewed from the side. The aluminium back also enables us to attach one of our bespoke pure aluminium sub-frames that allows the artwork to hang on the wall without a traditional picture frame Discover new photography by Allan Forsyth online and in our Wychwood Art Gallery in Deddington. Allan Forsyth is an artist who explores a breadth of themes that is reflected in the range of techniques he employs: analogue and digital exposures taken by the artist exist in his work, alongside computer generated imagery, photograms, and photographic collages from historic magazines and vintage postcards.
