About the Item

Beautiful Baroque Interior Portrait of the Klosterbibliothek Metten photographed by the Master of Interior Photography Massimo Listri. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. This Massimo Listri photograph captures another view of what appears to be a Baroque monastery or palace library, characterized by its dramatic architectural and sculptural elements. The most striking features in the foreground are the large white marble or stucco sculptural figures that appear to emerge from their columns, creating a dramatic entrance to the library space. These figures, rendered in a dynamic Baroque style, seem to be supporting or interacting with the architectural elements above them. The ceiling is elaborately decorated with frescoes and gilded ornamental work, featuring a series of arched sections with painted scenes and decorative motifs. The color palette includes rich golds, pinks (visible in the marble columns), and warm earth tones. The library shelving is built into the walls in a series of wooden bookcases, finished in what appears to be a reddish-brown wood with gilt decorative elements. The shelves are filled with old volumes, likely rare or historic books. The flooring appears to be marble or stone in a checkerboard pattern, similar to other grand libraries of the Baroque period. Listri's photographic technique is evident in how he's captured the depth of the space, with the central perspective drawing the eye down the corridor to a wooden door at the end. The natural lighting in the space is carefully balanced to highlight both the architectural details and the warm tones of the woodwork while maintaining the detail in the white sculptural elements. The overall composition creates a sense of grandeur and scholarly sophistication typical of Baroque ecclesiastical or aristocratic libraries, while Listri's precise framing and lighting choices emphasize the architectural and artistic magnificence of the space. Massimo Listri is an Italian photographer renowned for capturing the most grandiose architecture that man has to offer. His captivating images of palazzos, villas, and libraries, vast and silent, are carved out by symmetry, contrast, and light. Composing images that lead the eye into the framed pictorial space, Listri offers an entry into the majesty of landmarks, such as the Metropolitan in New York, the Vatican Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, and the renowned architecture of Niemeyer in Sao Paulo. Frozen in time yet full of history, Listri’s photographs are a commitment to absolute beauty.
