This is an in-camera manipulated photograph from 1970. It depicts soft light caressing trees as they are mirrored in the water. The image is filled with nuanced blue-magenta color. This lyrical landscape is equally abstract as it is representational - with no central point of focus. More important, it's an example of groundbreaking color photography that is generations ahead of time when most color photography was just documentary
Signed, numbered 3/15, dated and titled, and lower right recto. Other sizes are available, and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
Funk is an abstractionist while being a documentarian. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others.

Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
